Lovebirds

September 5, 2020

The forest shines and shows its green
It's steam, the leaves, their sheen is seen
A thousand stories wrapped in time
with rays of light that bugs do climb
Above and under, fauna moves
With rhythm, oozing lots of groove
Two lovebirds hold and watch the sight
Their love glows white with hours of flight
"A friend for life, at last", he sighed
She met his gaze with big round eyes
A wing outstretched, a gentle pet
creates vignettes of love duet
The tree can feel their warmth, their song
She'll see the world, he'll come along
The creatures, mangos, eggs they'll see
With sights in mind, they'll leave the tree
Before they go and take off flight
He sings a song and holds her tight.
